using an Mbox from digidesign

hello,

i am an user of an Mbox and i can not find the Mbox in the audio-output device's. when i normaly play something with media player, the sound come's from the Mbox. When i am using Combiwave the sound just comes from the pc speakers. in my computer setup i also have configured the Mbox. Do you have an explanation ?, i,ve tried a lot but i can not get it done.

hi masti,

unfortunately I don't have an Mbox to test - but basically all all available devices should appear in the list. the only exception here are sound devices that come with ASIO drivers only. while ASIO output is not supported at the moment there are WMA drivers available for almost all devices.

does the Mbox appear in the list of devices (a combobox) in windows' soundmixer (open the mixer and choose "options" -> "properties")?

unfortunately the mbox does not appear in the list of devices. so i gues that the mbox is used with asio drivers only ( i even dont know the difference ). you said that asio output is not available at this moment but are you guys ( or girls) working on it, and if so, how long do i have to wait for it.

hi masti,

i googled the mbox and according to

there are ASIO as well as WAVE drivers available. installing digidesign's WAVE driver should make the mbox appear in the device list. the drivers can be downloaded at the bottom of that page.

ASIO support is not planned at the moment, so currently the only chance is to get the WAVE driver working...
