click sound on sample start

If I play back a sample and then stop it prior to the end of the sample, there is an audible click at the start of every subsequent sample I play back. The only way to avoid this appears to be to allow every sample to play all the way to the end before triggering a new one. This basically means I have to fade out the pc output, skip the file to within a couple of seconds of the end and wait to play the next file. I've had this problem on 2 separate pc's, any idea how to stop it, as it reduces the usefulness of what would otherwise be an excellent program .

Thanks, Pete

Hi Pete,

this seems to depend on the hardware that's being used. The only solution is a short fade in/out at the beginning/end of the track. That's what's going to come in the next major version. If you're a registered user I can send you the (now quite stable) alpha version where fade-in is available.

If you just want to check it out quickly you download the latest alpha at http://www.combiwave.com/beta

Cheers,
Chris

Thanks Chris. I am registered so that'd be great if you could send it over.

Cheers
Pete
