When I open Combiwave in Vista it works fine for a few moments, but if I leave it for a few seconds then it stops responding. Am I doing something wrong? It always worked perfectly under XP

Hi,
did you find a solution yet or does the problem persist?
This problem has not been reported so far and I was not able to reproduce this so far.

Does it stop responding while playing one or more files - or does it also stop when you just launch it and leave it?

Thanks!
Chris

Sorry for my slow reply, I have been away working. When I first start Combiwave in Vista everything works fine, but if I leave it for a few moments, especially if there are any other programs running, then it does not respond. Sometimes it comes back to life if I click on the blue line at the top of the screen. It does not make any difference whether I am using the internal or an external sound card. I have a Toshiba Satellite, 2.4 Ghz duo processor with 4 GB ram. I have been having a lot of trouble with Vista and sound programs, for example Windows Defender and the User Account Control stop my analysis program Smaart from running at all. I hope you can help me because I have been very impressed with CombiWave all the time I have been using XP.

It's a pity - I've been running CombiWave for quite some time now under Vista but could not reproduce the problem. It just seems to work fine here... :-(

I'm wondering if SP1 is going to improve the situation.

I'm going to get a new machine with Vista - maybe the problem turns up there too... Otherwise it's going to be very difficult to track down an "invisible" problem...

I'm sorry that there's no better news now.

Best,
Chris

Thank you for trying. I will let you know if anything changes.

thanks!

I'm already waiting for my new PC and will also let you know if I find out anything.

A complete system reinstall has solved the problem. But Vista is still rubbish!

Hello Sarson,

many thanks for letting us know that and how you managed to solve the problem!
It's good to know that it wasn't a bug in CombiWave. ;-)

All the best,
Chris
