Hi Chris,
I've been a very satisfied Multiwave user for sometime now. It's a great application and has been very useful in my theatre sound work, putting in a level of precision timing that has made possible some very innovative sound effects. So thanks again for your efforts.

I'm considering buying Combiwave Pro there are just a couple of questions i'd like to ask if I may, firstly If I wanted to put a whole CD's length clip in a single slot, is there an upper limit to the file size that Combiwave can handle in a single slot or is it limited by the computer's memory capacity?.

Secondly, can Combiwave be configured to play each slot in sequence automatically?

Cheers

Mike

Good to hear that you are so satisfied with the program. :-)

* As far as i know there's no upper limit to the file size other than the amount of RAM that is available. To be honest I haven't tested really big files so far. If you want to make sure that CombiWave meets your needs I would recommend to check that out using the LITE version. If it works there it's going to work in CombiWave PRO.

* Yes, you can configure CombiWave to play one slot after the other. Here's how:

1. Open a scheme or some files.
2. Make sure "View" -> "Finish Actions" is enabled.
3. Choose "Tools" -> "Set all Slots to play the next Slot (N)"

This way the playing slot triggers playback of the next slot as soon as it reaches the end.

If you want to start over after playing the last slot you can set the last slot's Finish Action to "1" (using the button next to the loop button). This triggers slot #1 at the end of the last slot.

Hope this helps.

All the best,
Chris

Hi Chris,
I did as you suggested and tried Combiwave lite with some large files. I set up a 510 MB and a 480 MB file in two adjacent slots and set the options as you suggested. It worked a treat with no playback problems. I have 1 GB of RAM, so with my virus guard programme running in RAM and about 990MB of WAV files being stored also in RAM Combiwave didn't seem to have any trouble with this. The only practical consideration is that this setup only gives about 90 minutes of playback, so I will compress the files into MP3. I'm sure that this will work just as well.

So I've bought Combiwave PRO. Thanks again for your help.

Best Regards
