Thank for this Fantastic tool.

We are a broadcaster from spain and we use everydays in our programs  a similar app developed by ourself.

Now we just know your nice app CW and we are really happy becouse is Great but we need some feature essential for us and I suppose for many people.

1º - A feature that enables the application is active and ready for a play every   "x"  seconds.

Example: between one play and other play in the middle of a live show, brilliantly sound operator decides to touch the mouse and another application that is not CombiWave is selected.
When the time came to launch a play, horror, does not sound because the application focus is on the internet explorer .... Ohhhhhh
We had to implement this feature in our software, is it possible to implement it in CombiWave?

Thanks

Hi,

it's great to see how much you like CombiWave!

If I got you right you want a feature that makes CombiWave the active application every "x" seconds.

This sounds interesting, hower I'm not sure how usable other applications (Browser, ...) would be when they are losing focus every few seconds... I'm not saying it's a bad idea - I'm just thinking alound ;-)

I don't knwo if you noticed the "Global Hotkeys" feature - which would let you trigger files even when CombiWave is NOT active and is just sitting in the background... Did you try that?

Thanks again,
Chris

Thanks Chris.

Yes we know "Global Hotkeys" feature and and we have proved but is not valid for us becouse usually we have not a Full Keyboard close to us, we usually work with a USB Numeric Keypad and the mouse. The reason is the limited space in the workplace.

In this case , Global Hotkeys doesn´t work with a the keys of a numeric keypad.

for us would be better if the application had the option to remain active, demanding the focus every x seconds for this cases.

Sorry for my bad english Chris.

Javier.

I implemented the "bring to front/make active" feature to check this out. Unfortunately, it's hard to use other applications as these are constantly losing the focus.

For example even typing a web address into a browser is hard to do when the focus is lost every second... Increasing the interval might improve that, but it still doesn't seem to be a very clean solution. At least people need to be prevented from activating that feature by accident as this would cause a lot of confusion.
What interval were you thinking about?

What might be very useful could be large a red/green indicator telling you if CombiWave is ready to receive hotkey.

Btw.: As far as I can tell your English is fine! ;-)

Cheers,
Chris

First of all: THANK YOU again.

In our case, we think that "bring to front/make active" feature must be an easy and quick option that can be activate only when go to the Live moment.

We activete this optión only one minute before start the live Show becouse, from that moment, the most important thing is that when you click a hoykey, the thing sounds.

We have a little tick in the main interface to activate/deactivate it and a little box near to this where introduce a number of seconds, each operator select the number of second, depending the activity that he think will need. Nobody unmark the tick and work without this option really becouse is a very secure system.

The default value for us when start the APP is the option unchecked and 10 second of Delay, as it is long enough to do some fast work in another window during the live show.

I think, the RED light is a fantastic idea.

I hope I have been helpful, thanks again Chris

Javier.
