I am using combiwave pro v3.9.37
For playback in a show. in general v happy with the program .
however last night a track skipped only by .5 or less of a second but that is quite a major problem in a dance no.
i have no idea what caused it, any previous glitches i have had have been at the very top of the clip this skipped 9 seconds in to the track.

any ideas ??

hi simon,

it's really hard to say. i guess you didn't run any other programs at the same time? can you reproduce the problem?

however, combiwave uses the BASS audio library for playback to circument all the low-level playback stuff. hence it's hard for me to say what could have caused the problem. they also have a forum, but i think it's going to be hard to find out over the distance. it's no help, but i haven't heard about such problems so far.

kind regards,
chris

hi chris

the pc i am using has virtually no other software on it . i have stripped it and at start up it only runs microsoft essentials. so ther were no other programs running.
i have found by playing the start of each track prior to the show it minimises any glitching.
but last night again a track skipped about 5 seconds in this time a different track infact a different scheme.
having already played all the tracks in full with no problem. it seems like a random problem no particular file.

any ideas what i could look at??

cheers simon

I'm having the same problems. It does, however, seem to happen once the system has been running for an hour or so. It is quite frustrating, as it is difficult to fault-find. I have the same problems on an XP and a Vista machine, so I'm not sure it is a OS problem.

It could be a power setting or hardware issue.

Check the power settings START - CONTROL PANEL-POWER OPTIONS and make sure TURN OFF HARD DISKS is set to never

Also, check in device manager that your hard drive is in DMA mode not PIO.
