If you enable "Global Hotkeys" slots can be played by pressing [alt]+[ctrl]+[hotkey]. The hotkey modifiers (alt, ctrl) can be changed in the options dialog.
Please note that only slots 1-20 can be accessed using Global Hotkeys.
Another possible option - that at least tells you what hotkeys to use - can be found under
"Tools"->"Minimize to Tray, activate Global Hotkeys"
Re: hot keys when application does not have focus
Hello Anthony,
If you enable "Global Hotkeys" slots can be played by pressing [alt]+[ctrl]+[hotkey].
Hope this helps,
Chris

Re: hot keys when application does not have focus
Glad that I could help.
I'm sorry that this isn't documented at the moment...
Thanks for asking - this encouraged me to set up a manual page at:

All the best,
Chris
